One of my favorite things to do is meet new horses - I love the initial smelling and blowing in the palm of my hand and the softness of a muzzle. I especially love it when I'm meeting a horse for the first time at a session, it's even better if it's at a rescue. One of Trinity Rescue Inc.'s volunteers reached out to me last week asking if I would be interested in donating some time to doing glamour shots of their horses. My immediate answer was 'yes!' and I headed out Wednesday night to spend some time with their horses.
I arrived and was completely blown away by the sheer number of cars in the parking lot. All of the volunteers had shown up to spend time grooming the horses to perfection and help with the photos. I've been around several rescues and one of the hardest things to do is get volunteers in the door consistently. Trinity does not suffer here and has some seriously dedicated volunteers to work with!
I got to meet an adorable pair of brother - Picasso & Rembrandt, a sweet cautious Tennessee Walker mare named Adira, and an adorable filly who is not letting a bad start in life keep her down. I'm headed back out there within the week to get everyone else since there were so many that we ran out of light!
As a heads up in September if you've adopted a horse from Trinity you get 20% off your session fee. If you haven't but have liked Trinity Rescue Inc. on Facebook 20% of your session fee is donated back to the rescue! ANY horse adopted from Trinity starting now through the end of the year receives a free session and a $20 print credit for ordering prints and canvases of your new friend.
