My Dad instilled a thought process in me while I was on the golf team in college. The saying "You can't Birdie them all if you don't Birdie the first hole." It's an incredibly true statement and it haunted me every single tournament of my collegiate career. But the elation I felt when I made a Birdie on the first hole? It was like the whole entire game was mine to command. My swing was on the right plane, the ball was getting great bounces, and putts were falling; it's a crazy high on life feeling and I chased it through every tournament. Now if I didn't birdie the first hole - it was crushing but it also taught me how to pull myself out of a bad mood and find the silver lining to everything.
I feel like 2016 has opened with a birdie and I love it - it doesn't hurt that the weather has finally picked up and the rain has stopped and the sun is out. I love this time of year for the fact that I'm getting to speak with brides about their dream wedding day. Brides who are planning elopements that make my heart sing, brides with gorgeous blooms in mind for their wedding, brides who want to incorporate unique twists and family pets into everything.
If my initial brides + their fiancee's are any indication of how 2016 is going to go then I think we're on track for an amazing year of beautiful weddings and lovely blooms. I'm so excited and I can't wait to watch their dreams unfold and be there to witness that moment where their world stands still.
